Ø     Pick a child safety seat that contains fewer toxins.  Many of the same polluting chems used to build car parts are also used to make car seats – but not all seats are the same, so check out the safety ratings first.  You’ll help to keep your kid healthy and safe, without bossing around the environment too. 

Ø     You can’t go without a car seat, but you can choose one that doesn’t off-gas cancerous fire retardants and heavy metals from its fabric cushions, foam stuffing, belts, and base plastic.

Ø     Toxic manufacturing chems, such as bromine and chlorine (often from PVC), can run off during car seat production, polluting waterways and harming wildlife.
