Note from Mom...

The four most wonderful words a cancer patient can hear from her doctor are YOU ARE IN REMISSION. Wow. What
terrific news. Maybe I don't have to go through the last two chemo treatments. WRONG!! Have to stay in Chicago another 6 weeks. Oh well, that's ok.
But, how blessed can a mother be to have her children pull together, bring her to Chicago and take care of her through the good times of going through chemo AND the bad times. Also, to have sons-in-law, instead of saying - HOW LONG IS YOUR MOTHER STAYING???? - making sure I get to appointments on time when the girls are busy, buying foods they think I might like and making special dinners for me when I have trouble eating, reminding me when it is time to take my medicine, and just making every effort to make me feel truly welcome even though an extra person in the house can sometimes be a pain in the neck. It might be ok for a week but my Dad had a saying that fish and company did stink after 3 days and I'll be here close to 3 months.
So, I just want to say to all of you that you have shown what true love is all about and I am so very proud of you.
